CACHE Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
This qualification replaces the earlier CACHE Level 3 Certificate for Teaching Assistants.
During this Award you will learn about the role of the teaching assistant in supporting teaching and learning, how inclusion, equality and positive behaviour can be promoted for all pupils in school, the importance of learning activities, how to manage behaviour and risks involved, how to support pupils through transistions, develop your communcation skills, learn about risk assessment, developing and promoting positve realtionships with both staff and pupils and learn about keeping pupils safe. You will also learn about current legislation, policies and reflective practice.
Who is the qualification for?
This award is for teaching assistants and learning support assistants who have several years experience of working with pupils, in a primary or secondary school and who are ready to take responsibility for leading pupils unsupervised for short periods of time.
About the qualification
The CACHE Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning consists of 2 units:
- Unit 1 – Teaching and Learning in Schools
- Unit 2 – Effective Communication with a safe environment
How will I be assessed?
In each unit you will be assessed by a 3500 word written assignment. One is marked by CACHE, the other one is marked by the centre and moderated by CACHE. You will receive support throughout the course to work to these assignments with guidance and individual tutorials. Full details of the assignments and marking criteria are given in the course handbook.
Progression from this qualification
This Level 3 award teaches you to work with pupils, colleagues and parents to help provide you with a good level of understanding to work unsupervised as a teacher assistant or learning support assistant in a primary or secondary school. You can go on to the level 4 awards.
Taught sessions
This qualification is taught over 3 terms one session of 3 hours a week, one morning a week for 24 weeks. Students also need to be working or volunteering in a school setting for 120 hours during the course.
Cost of the Course
The CACHE Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning costs Dhs 14,000 including CACHE registration, comprehensive course handbook and certificate. Discount is available for group booking and BSME schools. Fees can be paid in installments.
